Kingston Drive
Always a discussion point for residents, but would be good to get feedback from more than just the residents.
Why is there only one entrance/ exit into kingston? did they not learn from the fatality 3 months ago that if something happens between here and the leisure centre no one can get in or out? what happends if a fire starts? Lesters shut the dirt track at the end of leisure drive, so will they compensate if a family member or property is lost becuase of a fire or accident?
Yes, the single entry point is a safety issue, isn't it. I am interested in the continuing campaign to have Leisure Drive connected to Paris Road, and also very much looking forward to the building of the bridge connecting Australind to Eaton through Treendale and Millbridge. What a lot of driving it will solve - when it finally goes ahead. Shame about the projected bottleneck on the Australind side though, as apparently the Harvey Council has elected not to have a two-lane road on its side of the bridge.
MESSAGE FROM LESTER GROUP: Thank you for raising the comment about access. It is something Lester Group has been working on, and planning is in place to provide more than one entry into Kingston. We are also working with the Shire to resolve the issues impacting traffic on Leisure Drive – an issue that is now seen as critical.
The dirt track at the end of Leisure Drive was closed after a request from Main Roads for safety reasons.
We will keep the Community & Social Group informed of our progress and hope to see you at the next meeting.
