Trail Bike Riders

Please comment on the bikes that run along Braidwood Drive near the river and hassle the local wild life.

  1. We don't own trail bikes but enjoy seeing kids out riding around on them it's nice being semi rural and I don't think anyone sets out to hassle any wildlife on their bikes

  2. Its good to hear someone who doesn't mind the bikes, but that is the first time someone has been positive about them. They do chase kangaroos (I have seen them), and they do make an awful noise in the afternoons. Personally if they wish to ride them on private property that is fine, but on nature areas, No.

  3. It's great that kids are able to ride their bikes in a safe, easily accessable area that is close to home. It must give their parents great peace of mind

  4. I am all for trail bike riding, just NOT in the bushland of Kingston, or the streets for that matter. The riders are outside my house, and the bushland next door every weekend and some week nights. I am glad daylight savings is over, because it means the riders can't stay out as late disrupting the neighbourhood. I live with shift workers who are constantly disrupted by the noise of the bikes, and it's heart breaking to see the kangaroos run for dear life. I know the bikes chase them. Some riders don't wear protective gear, and I've seen their unlicenced bikes getting around on the roads, in the dark with NO lights. This is so irresponsible and extremely dangerous. I have contacted the shire & police and neither of them were any help. If you're a rider, or your child is, please consider the disruption you're causing to YOUR neighbours of Kingston.

  5. I too enjoy trail bike riding. But up and down my fence? I dont hoon around their houses, why should they be allowed to hoon around mine. I too have contacted the Ranger and Police, neither give a damn!

  6. The Police will come out when phoned, but they need to be able to catch them in the act so to speak. If they are riding a licensed bike, then you can let the police know the number and they will go to the house. That has worked on a couple of occasions. The number of bike riders near Braidwood Drive (near the Brunswick River) has dropped since a few of them got picked up.

It is sad that they can't ride them, but they need to go somewhere that is not in the middle of a suburb to do it.

  7. Ive had enough of them, the council and developers need to stop them.
The noise and dust is horrible try working shift with these idiots and you'll find out how enjoyable it is to live around there.
Its time to get the council and developer moving on the area.
The whole place is a dump and the people using it have no respect for anyone who lives there.
Call the shire ranger when you see them and the australind police when there on the roads.
Idiots chasing poor kangaroos should be locked up.
